‘Welcome 2 Karachi’: Jackky Bhagnani visits Siddhivinayak temple ahead of film’s release

Bollywood actor Jackky Bhagnani has visited the Siddhivinayak temple to seek divine blessings before his film ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’it theaters on Thursday, May 28.

Produced by Jackky’s father Vashu Bhagnani and directed by Ashish R Mohan, ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ also casts Arshad Warsi and renowned Pakistani actors Ayub Khosa and Adnan Shah. American dancing sensation Lauren Gottlieb who has been a part of Remo D’Souza’s ABCD and ABCD 2, is also among the cast.

‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ is a political satire which deals with the adventures of two Indians who get caught into the web of Taliban after they mistakenly land up in Karachi, Pakistan.

Jackky had earlier also visited the temple along with his ‘Youngistan’ co-star Neha Sharma after the release of the Syed Ahmad Afzal film in 2014. The ‘F.A.L.T.U’ actor had then said he always sought God’s blessings before a film’s release and he had made the visit after the release of ‘Youngistan’ because he wanted to thank the deity.

The actor made his Bollywood debut with the 2009 release ‘Kal Kisne Dekha’ by Vivek Sharma and later appeared in a few films which did not do so well at the box office.

‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ was earlier scheduled to be released on May 21, also a Thursday, but was postponed by a week as the producer wanted to avoid a clash with Anand L.Rai’s ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. According to Vashu, clashes never helped any movie in 90 percent of the cases and therefore, he had announced the delay weeks in advance.
