‘Mardaani 2’: Rani Mukherji’s cop avatar impresses again

Rani Mukherji starts the shooting of the sequel of her hit film, ‘Mardaani’ and she is again seen in the role of a cop. Her cop avatar still from ‘Mardaani 2’ is shared on social media by Yash Raj Films.

Sharing the still on Twitter, YRF wrote, "#RaniMukerji dons the cop uniform in #Mardaani2 | @Mardaani2."

‘Mardaani’ helmed by Pradeep Sarkar, is a cop drama film that revolves around a woman officer who takes on human trafficking business in Mumbai after her goddaughter gets kidnapped. The film was made on the budget of Rs 21 crore and made a profit of around Rs 56 crore at the box office.

The shooting of the film kick-started a month ago. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote #Mardaani2 begins... Stars Rani Mukerji... Gopi Puthran directs... Produced by Aditya Chopra... 2019 release.

The sequel is going to be much more impactful than prequel. "Rani Mukerji starts shooting for 'Mardaani 2'," read a post on the official Twitter page of Yash Raj Films. 

Rani had earlier said: "Across the globe, people have given it a standing ovation. I think it has hit the right chord with everyone irrespective of the gender. The fact that we have tried to raise an awareness has been conquered. Mardaani is and will always be extremely close to my heart."

‘Mardaani 2’ will be directed by Gopi Puthran and will be produced by Rani Mukerji’s husband Aditya Chopra. The film will release by the end of 2019.
