Deepika Padukone flaunts panty at public event

Bollywood’s leggy lass Deepika Padukone became a victim of wardrobe malfunction when she unintentionally showed her undies during an event in Mumbai recently. According to pictures online, Deepika had this upskirt moment when she came out in a short outfit, allowing the ever ready shutterbugs to capture her flashing panty.

Incidentally, Deepika is not the only Bollywood celeb, who suffered such an awkward moment. Kangana Ranaut, Mallika Sherawat, Priyanka Chopra and many others had faced such moments when they sat crossed leg.

Celebrities should be extra careful while going out in short outfits since there generally are enough lens men waiting to capture them in such a moment.

In another incident, Deepika got caught in a war of words with actress Sonam Kapoor, when in a recent episode of KJo’s chat show, Sonam took a dig at her rival’s fashion sense. Sonam said on the show that Anaita Shroff Adajania, Deepika’s stylist, deserved all the credit for the actor’s fashion sense.

According to a media report, reacting to the incident Deepika said, “I think she (Sonam) is entitled to an opinion and I respect it.”

Deepika went on to define what style meant to her and said, “Fashion, for me, is what I believe in, what suits my personality, what suits my body type and what I can carry off. It is not what people in the fashion world are dictating. It’s what I feel comfortable in. Wear your personality. It’s what I have said earlier as well.”

Apart from her acting career, Deepika also takes part in stage shows. She has also written columns for an Indian newspaper, and is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products.

While studying in school and her sporting career (badminton and baseball), she also worked as a child model, and appeared in a couple of advertising campaigns at the age of eight.

In 2005, she walked the ramp for the first time at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Suneet Varma, and won the ‘Model of the Year’ award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards. She became widely known after she appeared for the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar. Soon she began to receive offers for film roles and made her film debut with ‘Aishwarya’, a Kannada film directed by Indrajit Lankesh in 2006.

In 2007, Shah Rukh Khan cast Deepika in ‘Om Shanti Om’ in a dual role. Deepika won the Best Female Debut Award at the Filmfare Awards ceremony and received her first nomination in the Best Actress category.
