Anand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ starring Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif is finally out for the audience to see and cherish the movie. After a gap, Shahrukh Khan is back to ablaze the silver screen but in an altogether different avatar. We are used to see King Khan in his romantic avatar, stylish, loving his actress passionately. He is called the King of romance and he carries the tag with pride but in ‘Zero’, audience will get to see in the role of a dwarf and it is really a matter of concern whether his fans will accept him in his new role which hardly left any room for show his romanticism.

In ‘Zero’, Shahrukh Khan plays the role of a dwarf,( Bauua Singh), Anushka Sharma enacts the role of a renowned scientist Aafia Bhinder, who is confined to wheel-chair, suffers from cerebral palsy. Katrina Kaif essays the role of an alcoholic actress Babita Kumari. Bauua is a happy-go-luck type of guy. He is fun-loving, plays pranks, who fools around the streets and a die-hard fan of actress Babita Kumari. Round the clock, he dreams about marrying Babita Kumari. Instead of Babita, he gets Aafia. Bauua Singh meets and fell in love with Aafia and when they are about to enter into wedlock, his dream girl Babita Kumari enters his city and gradually, he enters her bedroom. Following which things took a U-turn which is emotionally loaded and quite dramatic and surreal.

‘Zero’ is an offering from Anand L Rai, who is behind some powerful and entertaining scripts like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Ranjhanaa’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. ‘Zero’ is captivating and it has all the ingredients which will hook the audience to their seat. Shahrukh as Bauua Singh is an interesting character and his fans will love it. Undoubtedly, ‘Zero’ is a powerful script with dramatic twists.

Speaking about the performances, Shahrukh Khan played the toughest role of his life and he nailed his character very well. He was impressive and he kept intact his lover boy image.

The most strong and challenging character that one portrayed in the film was by Anushka Sharma. Playing the role of a wheel-chair bound patient with cerebral palsy was not easy but Anushka played the character with sheer perfection.

Katrina Kaif also added to the film’s excellence. She played the character very well and she too deserves kudos.

In the nutshell, ‘Zero’ is a well-defined and well-crafted movie and is a delightful watch.
