
The Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit Nene was born on 15th May, 1967 in Mumbai to a Marathi family. Her father's name is Shankar Dixit and mother's Snehlata Dixit. She wanted to be a microbiologist, but eventually landed up in Bollywood to be a megastar.

Madhuri Dixit Nene married Shriram Madhav Nene, a cardio-vascular surgeon based in Denver, Colorado, USA. She has two sons, Arin 11 years old and Raayan 9 years old.
Madhuri Dixit Nene won Filmfare best actress award 4 times and was nominated for the same nine times. She was honoured by the Government of India, and was awarded Padma Shri in 2008.
