Gauri Khan was born on October 8, 1970. She was born as Gauri Chhibber, in New Delhi. She is a Punjabi Hindu, originally belonging to the ‘Chib Mohyal Brahmin’ clan. Her father is Colonel Ramesh Chandra Chhibber. Her growing up years was in New Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi. She went to Modern School. She is a history graduate from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi.
Gauri Khan is the wife of the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ or King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan. They got married on October 25, in 1991 and are still married. They have two children- Aryan, who was born in 1997 and Suhana, born in 2000. She has known Shahrukh since 1984. At that time she was 14 and he was 18.
Gauri Khan, despite being a star’s wife, is quite shy of the media and stays reclusive. She appeared on the cover of Vogue’s Indian version, in January, 2008. Along with Shahrukh Khan, she started her own production house “Red Chillies Entertainment” and their first production was Farah Khan’s debut movie as a director, ‘Main Hoon Na’ in 2004. It was a blockbuster. The banner has gone on to produce movies like Paheli(2005), Om Shanti Om(2007), Billu(2009) and the soon-to-be-released “Ra.One” in 2011. She also designed the costumes for the movie “English Babu Desi Mem” in 1996. She hosted a Hindi music countdown ‘Oye’ in the 90s. In 2004, the Zee Cine awards conferred the title of ‘Queen of Bollywood’ to her.
She is also the face of “Aftershock”, a fashion line.
